Hybrid III 50th Male FE

The Hybrid III 50th Percentile Male Crash Test Dummy, representing the average adult male, is the most widely used crash test dummy in the world for the evaluation of automotive safety restraint systems in frontal crash testing.

The harmonized HIII-50M model, designed in 2010, is a combination of First Technologies Safety Systems Inc. (FTSS) and Denton ATD Inc. dummy components and instrumentation intended to reduce variation.

To capture variability of the chest deflection seen in physical tests, a customized chest borderline model is available for the HIII-50M dummy model.  This allows the user to specify the chest stiffness of the model to match specific physical dummy test data or study the effect of chest variability.

Humanetics offers highly detailed and validated HIII-50M models in ANSYS LS-DYNA, PAM-CRASH, ABAQUS, and RADIOSS Finite Element codes.
