Free Motion Headform

Free Motion Headform (FMH)

  • Standard FMH 92041-001-H

The Free Motion Headform is a Hybrid III type dummy head launched by a robot arm accelerator from inside the vehicle. The FMH travels freely through the air so that its forehead strikes the selected target component (e.g. pillar, side rail, or header). The FMH is designed to accommodate accelerometers for measurement of head acceleration during the impact. These measurements are used to calculate specified Head Injury Criterion (HIC).
